Using a combination of a microcontroller and analog sensors I designed a small LCD display used for monitoring external temperature and humidity. The system is based off of a TI MSP430 using Honeywell relative humidity sensor and a Fairchild temperature thermistor. The system is designed to use a 5V battery and can be calibrated to a certain temperature range. It has about 1 degree and 1% Rh sensitivity. Currently no addition sensors can be added because of the small number of inputs for the MSP430 F2013 chip, however using a MSP430 with more input ports could allow for a significant increase in capability. |
